Experimental Data Parameters
Our numbers are severely limited by the mass constraints of our launch vehicle. Hence, we estimate our maximum payload at fifteen mice.
In order to study these valuable subjects, we will attempt to take as much data on board the spacecraft as feasible, and then perform more detailed physiological
and behavioral studies after the mice return to Earth. Ground studies are still being worked out between the project team and the broader science community;
however, we currently hope to acquire the following data during the flight itself:
- video and still images (general health, behavior)
- environmental parameters (humidity, temperature, accelerations, etc.)
- activity levels
- body weight
- food and water consumption
- radiation dosage
- urine composition (for chemical indicators)
We want to ensure that our final experimental protocol makes maximum use of available data and provides information valuable to the science community at large.
If you or any of your colleagues have done research in gravitational biology, physiology, or other related areas, we welcome your input on experimental design for
the mission.
